Sharon I. Theodore-Lewis graduated magna cum laude from Howard University’s undergraduate school in 1981, with a B.A. degree in economics. In 1984, Ms. Lewis received her J.D. degree from American University’s Washington College of Law.

Ms. Lewis, who is a resident partner in the Firm’s Maryland’s office, concentrates her practice on business and complex criminal defense matters.

After graduating from law school, Ms. Lewis spent her first year with a general practice firm in Dayton, Ohio. After that, she worked for Lexis-Nexis in a variety of capacities before joining the New York State Energy Office as an assistant counsel. After spending a couple of years at the Energy Office, Ms. Lewis became an assistant attorney general with the New York State Office of Attorney General where she represented the State in a variety of matters.

In 1995, Ms. Lewis transferred to Washington, D.C. and assumed a position as an examining attorney for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. In December 1996, Ms. Lewis left the Patent and Trademark Office and started her own firm in 1996. She managed her own firm until she joined Patrick Henry LLP in January 2000.

Ms. Lewis has been active in many civic organizations, including the Urban League. She is a member of the Bars of Maryland, the District of Columbia, New York, and Ohio and is licensed to practice before the state and federal courts in those jurisdictions.
